As a company, Bathshack are happy to support and encourage all our staff to further their experience or skill set across all our departments. During lockdown, Kelsey joined our Customer Services team and she was keen to progress within the company and expand her skills within her role by undertaking an apprenticeship.
We caught up with Kelsey so she could tell us a little more about herself and the role;
Tell us a little bit about you:
I am 17 years old and I have been working for Bathshack for 10 months in the customer service department.
I love dogs and I have a beautiful greyhound Percy - she even shares a bed with me. I also enjoy keeping active and playing sports with my friends, especially badminton.
Tell us a little bit about your role with Bathshack:
My main role is taking calls from customers and helping them with any queries or issues they may have. There are three full time and one part time customer service team members with the expansion to grow this number in 2022 so I am excited about being part of the team.
I help manage our delivery system, ensuring customers get their delivery as soon as possible, make sure they are aware of our T&Cs, policies and shipping information.
I am in charge of the ‘info’ email inbox along with the customer care team, when customers email Bathshack for any queries they may have I respond to them promptly.
The customer services department work with all other departments within the business to ensure everything runs smoothly.
What have you learned on your customer service apprenticeship L2 college course?
In my course so far, I have learnt various new techniques that help me when speaking with customers. I have better knowledge on how best to deal with customers especially when certain situations may arise to meet their needs and provide excellent customer service.
Previously I wasn’t sure how to write emails when communicating with customers and I now feel confident on how to put together a written email in a more business-like manner.
Being kind and helpful to other colleagues and your team while working can make your work days a lot more enjoyable and also has a good effect on your mental health while in work.
How has this supported your development in your current role?
My customer service apprenticeship L2 course has really helped me personally and professionally. My primary role is to deal and speak with customers on a daily basis and I now am more confident in how to conduct myself, it has helped me problem solve quickly and not to panic when in a problematic situation arises, and asking for help isn’t a bad thing.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
The thing I love most about working at Bathshack is how all the colleagues feel like a second family to me. Everyone is so welcoming, helpful and encouraging, from senior leadership level to sales & warehousing staff.
I like the fact that Bathshack has allowed me to meet new people from all over Ireland and UK.
How has working with Bathshack helped you build skills for future career development?
Bathshack has helped me regain my social skills, during a time where lock down hit and people worked from home, I now feel more confident speaking to people in my daily routine.
I have learnt new customer service skills and techniques with Bathshack and that having patience goes a long way.
