As stated in our previous blog, nobody wants a cold and uninviting bathroom! It is important to keep your bathroom as warm and dry as possible. After all, a cold bathroom will lead to dampness and could potentially lead to serious issues such as the growth of mold and mildew.
Let’s take a look at some of our favourite heating solutions. We will run through the benefits of each option, keeping factors such as size, style and budget in mind.
Ladder Radiators and Towel Rails
This heating option can be used in almost any bathroom. They are a fantastic space saving option which makes them ideal for any size of bathroom including smaller spaces such as a cloakroom or en-suite. Ladder style radiators are available in either a straight or curved option so you can choose a look that suits your design preferences.
When it comes to the finish of a ladder radiator, chrome is a very popular finish; however, ladder radiators are also commonly available in white, black and anthracite. We love the Rochelle Curved Electric Chrome Radiator that showcases a luxurious chrome finish and has been hand-crafted using the highest quality materials.
Designer Radiators
Designer radiators can add the luxury touch to your bathroom design. As well as being a functional heating system, these designer options can also be a stand out feature of your bathroom in their own right.

Electric Towel Rails

Electric towel rails are available in all the same shapes and sizes and colours so you don't have to compromise on style. We recommend the Phoenix Athena Pre-Filled All Electric Stainless-Steel Towel Rail which requires no plumbing at all.
Under Floor Heating
Underfloor heating is one of the best ways to warm up your bathroom. There is the assumption about the cost of underfloor heating not being worth the trouble of heating a bathroom. Whilst it may take more work to install initially, the benefits of this heating option make it all worthwhile. With underfloor heating you can enjoy a more consistent temperature throughout your bathroom. It is a good choice if you're installing a new bathroom because you can have the underfloor heating in place before you lay your bathroom floor. However, it can still be installed if you have flooring installed already.
There are two ways you can install underfloor heating in your bathroom:
The first is to fit underfloor central heating pipes. This means that the pipes are fitted below the bathroom floor and linked to the rest of your central heating network.
The simplest electric solution would be to purchase heat mats as they are a little easier to lay out. Once you have your mats laid out, you can hook them up to an underfloor heating thermostat which allows you adjust the heat to your preferences. We recommend the Ecofloor Under Floor Heating Mat 160 Watt Area as this mat takes up little space and is easy to install.
You can also control your underfloor heating with a touch of a button with the Cosytoes Touchscreen Stat for Electrical Underfloor Heating.

BTU Rating
Last but certainly not least, one other point is that all radiators come with a BTU (British Thermal Unit) rating. A BTU rating is essentially how much heat a radiator will generate in a room and dictate whether a radiator is suitable for the size of your bathroom.
